Amanda Knox SHOCKER - The Daily Beast

Amanda Knox DNA Shocker

A day after Knox lashed out at her dubious accuser, she got a break on Wednesday with a new report that could lead to her exoneration. Barbie Latza Nadeau reports from Italy.

Amanda Knox's chances for freedom were bolstered on Wednesday when independent forensic experts submitted their report on crucialDNA evidence used to convict Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. In the report, obtained by The Daily Beast, the experts say that due to "mishandling of the crime scene, contamination cannot be ruled out" on a knife with Knox's DNA on the handle and what prosecution claimed was Kercher's on the blade and on the victim's bra with Sollecito's DNA on the metal clasp. The findings will be presented to the Perugia appellate court on July 25.Amanda Knox Appeal Hearing: Raffaele Sollecito Waffles - The Daily Beast

DNA Expert claims Knox, Sollecito, innocent of murder

Dr. Greg Hampikian is a professor of biology at Boise State University and the director of the Idaho Innocence Project.
“We take cases primarily from Idaho, we're working on several cases right now in Idaho with people who claim to be innocent who are imprisoned,” said Hampikian.
By using DNA evidence, the Idaho Innocence Project has helped to exonerate seven people across the country.  Hampikian's research has taken him around the world.
Two years ago, by chance he became involved with one of the most high profile international murder cases.
“I was trying to study how DNA evidence is used in other countries, and when I looked at the data -- I was appalled,” said Hampikian.
The data he was looking at was from the Amanda Knox case, an American student convicted of murdering her roommate at a home they shared in Perugia, Italy.  Knox, as well as her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, and another man, Rudy Guede, were all convicted in the murder of Meredith Kercher.
"The one piece of evidence that tied her to this case had such a low level of DNA with the victim on it that I think it was probably just one of these casual transfers, certainly not from a stabbing,” said Hampikian.
Hampikian volunteered his services to Knox's defense team.
After scouring over the evidence at his lab on the BSU campus, Dr. Hampikian says Knox and Sollecito are innocent of the crime.
DNA evidence points to Rudy Guede as the prime suspect. Read the full article here.

Daric Richie's troubling past : From LGBT suicide to Amanda Knox, PMF member is a practiced scammer

Troubling that a site such as Perugia Murder File, which at one time had standards ,  is now praising this internet menace who has apparently made a career out of scams.

I had the misfortune to encounter such a person on a European scholars blog, and it was stunning the number of online identities this man had, and the money he was able to bilk from trusting "colleagues". (This "scholar"  also proved to be a convicted felon and registered sex offender in the UK.)

It appears DR fits the same profile,  and is in need of the same kind of help.  More of the past antics of this person  @ the following site,  which has aptly called the 20 year old youth  " a sick kid":   http://www.hivster.com/?p=1104

Also, this YouTube exposes Richie under the name of "Daric Rawr":  Nasty stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A-CSpuOprs

Fictitious internet poster Daric Richie dupes Perugia Murder File and Peter Quennell

Perugia by NightImage by Niccolò Caranti via Flickr
This story regarding Daric Richie and Perugia Murder File  smells quite a bit like the recent one involving National Organization for Marriage defector Louis Marinelli.   It's all about that 15 minutes of fame.  I see that the Examiner has now deleted Richie's "exclusive interview"  ,  and in fact all articles pertaining to him on the Examiner seem to have vanished.  Odd,  too,  that the 16 year old list his age as 18 here .  In any case,  "Daric Richie"  is a fictitious persona of a make-believe "celebrity"  who has resorted to the lowest stunts for publicity,  as can be seen on this YouTube.  Perugia Murder File and his alleged run-in with Friends of Amanda Knox is just the lastest of his cheap gimmicks.

Retired Forensic Engineer Hendry believes there was gross misinterpretation of the blood evidence by the Scientific Police

Perugia, ItaliaImage via WikipediaRetired forensic engineer Ron Hendry has stated in a lengthy analysis of the crime scene his view that there was "gross misinterpretation of blood evidence by the scientific police"  involved in the murder case of British student Meredith Kercher in November 2007,  Perugia, Italy.

Hendry,  who for 28 years worked as a forensic accident reconstruction professional,  believes that police mistook blood drippings which they themselves had pushed under the bed during their investigation, for ones which Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollection  -  both convicted for the murder,  along with Ivory Coast immigrant Rudy Guede  -  had attempted to hide.

From an article by Hendry:

The Scientific Police White Suits reexamined the cottage crime scene on December 18, 2007. During this reexamination, they removed a large number of shoes and other items that had been shoved under the bed during the original workup of the crime scene. After removing everything, investigators noticed and photographed dried blood drippings on the floor under and near the head end of the bed.  [.  .  .  ]The Scientific Police subsequently determined that this was important blood evidence that had been intentionally hidden by Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito. Photos and analysis of these blood drippings were included in a report prepared for the prosecutor and the Court. The photos of the blood dripping area and the police interpretation of what they meant were also included in the large Scientific Police crime scene exhibit, ostensibly produced for the jury’s consideration at the trial of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito.

In his careful analysis,  Hendry has determined that the police themselves made these drippings during the moving of clothes and shoes under the bed and discovered them later in their subsequent removal of the items from underneath the bed.

The ‘collapse’ of the charges at the appeal court. By Giangavino Sulas (Translation by Candace Dempsey)

The ‘collapse’ of the charges at the appeal court

By Giangavino Sulas (Translation by Candace Dempsey)
April 2011, Perugia.
The prosecution, which considers Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito the murderers of Meredith Kercher, has been disarmed
The scientific proof,  finally entrusted to experts nominated by the appeals court and not just to the police, is deteriorating and opens up disturbing questions about the procedures used. The witnesses who, when they were not drug addicts or in jail for drug dealing (like Hekuran Kokomani and Antonio Curatolo), have problems of deafness, of physical and mental health serious enough to be hospitalized in a psychiatric ward. (That is the case with Nara Capezzali).
This is the Perugia appeals court for the murder of the British student Meredith Kercher. Before the bar are two suspects and on the bench a good three prosecutors (a public prosecutor and two deputy prosecutors). A number worthy of a Cosa Nostra super trial. Evidently there are a few problems. And the problems unfailingly emerge.
If the clasp of Meredith’s bra, on which the prosecution claims to have discovered the DNA of Raffaelle Sollecito, is rusted and can no longer be examined by the experts appointed by the appeals court, and the only witness claiming to have seen Amanda and Raffaele together the night of the crime has changed his version, by changing the dates of his “sighting,” then what else is left as evidence against the young man from Puglia?

What do they have on hand?

Raffaele Sollecito in class, 2007.
And what remains against Amanda if, always according to the experts, the amount of biological material found on on the knife, the presumed crime weapon, is a level too low to reveal the genetic code?
Recall that this is the biological material from which the forensic analyst extracted the DNA of Meredith (on the tip of the blade) and of Amanda (on the handle.)
On the blade there is no trace of bleach
The experts added as well another particular: there was no trace of bleach on that knife. Then it had never been washed to clean the traces as maintained by the forensic police. The only proofs against the two young people have been cleaned away, but Amanda and Raffaele remain in prison after three and a half years. The young man of Puglia has celebrated his fourth consecutive birthday in a cell.http://blog.seattlepi.com/dempsey/2011/04/03/new-revelations-no-evidence-against-amanda-knox-and-raffaele-sollecito/
